Spectrum TV plans
There are different plans, both for people who have a standard cable TV connection in their home and for those who want to cut the cable.
Cable television plans
Spectrum TV offers four main plans for cable television subscribers. All plans also give users access to the Spectrum TV app for PCs, mobile devices and smart TVs, as well as thousands of free and paid on-demand TV shows and movies. The specific duct line-up for each plan may vary by location. Additional premium channels can be added to any plan for additional fees.
- choice: All of your local channels and 10 extras to choose from from a list of 72 available channels. The plan starts at $ 34.99 per month.
- Choose: 125+ HD channels starting at $ 44.99 per month.
- silver: Over 175 HD channels including HBO, NFL Network and Showtime, plus free access to the HBO Max streaming service from $ 74.99 per month.
- gold: Over 200 channels including HBO, NFL Network, Showtime, The Movie Channel, Starz and Starz Encore, plus access to HBO Max streaming service from $ 94.99 per month.
All of these plans require a set-top box, DVR box, or CableCARD device connected to your home TV. Customers can also access these channels using the Spectrum TV app. Note that Charter / Spectrum also offers packages with internet access, telephone and mobile service for other tariffs. The company also offers cable television plans specifically for the Latino audience.
Internet-only plans
Internet-only customers can also subscribe to Spectrum TV Stream, which offers all local TV channels and 25 additional cable TV channels for $ 34.99. Additional channels are available for an additional fee. The same internet-only customers can also opt for Spectrum TV Essentials, which offers 62 channels but no local channels for $ 14.99 per month. Both plans can only be streamed on PC and the Spectrum TV app for mobile devices and smart TVs.
Spectrum News / Spectrum Sports
Charter not only offers cable channels from other companies, but also offers its own programs in certain markets. Spectrum News provides 24/7 local news in 10 states including New York City. In addition, Spectrum Sports operates regional sports channels in four US states. These include New York City, where the station shows live games from the New York Mets, and Los Angeles, where local games from LA Lakers and LA Dodgers are shown.
Spectrum TV app
TV customers can also access the Spectrum TV app, which allows home and home users to access live TV channels on their PC, smart TV or mobile device. Some channels, e.g. B. Local broadcast channels are not available in the app if there is no connection to a Spectrum internet source. The applications also provide full access to the cable TV service’s on-demand library of TV shows and movies. The mobile apps can download these programs for offline viewing. In addition, you can remotely program your home DVR using the app.
The app currently supports the following devices:
- iOS-based phones and tablets
- Apple TV set-top boxes
- Android-based phones and tablets
- Amazon Fire Tablets
- Samsung smart TVs
- Microsoft Xbox One consoles
In addition, the mobile apps also support Google Chromecast dongles and televisions, which they can use to cast their apps on these devices.
Until recently, a Spectrum TV app was also available for Roku smart TVs and devices. However, in mid-December 2020, Spectrum announced that it was unable to reach a new settlement with Roku. As a result, the Spectrum TV app has been removed from Roku’s download library. Users who have already downloaded the app on their Roku device can still use it. However, it is recommended not to delete the app from your device.
Spectrum originals
As of 2018, Spectrum TV will show original programs via its on-demand service under the Spectrum Originals brand. These shows are semi-exclusive to the service. This means that they are either original on the US market or are first released for Spectrum customers before they are available in other stores.
