  • We have another good look at the upcoming Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds in the form of new renders.
  • The new pictures were shared by Tipper Evan Blass and showed the earphones from all angles.
  • They appear to be more compact than the existing 1000-XM3 radio buds.

The Sony WF-1000XM3 true wireless earbuds are perhaps the best in their category right now. They’re expensive, but they have great noise-canceling features and superior performance. Now Sony seems to be preparing a successor to the flagship earphones with the WF-1000XM4.

Frequent tipster Evan Blass has released new renders of the Sony WF-1000XM4 and the earbuds look pretty flying in their redesigned avatar.

Pictures split by Pale show the WF-1000XM4 from all angles in two colors – black with copper accents and white with gold accents. Similar renders were shared by tipster as well Roland Quandt last week. The earbuds look more compact this time around and may sit more flush with the ear than their predecessors. The current model stays outside of a user’s ear and looks a bit bulky.

You can see the leaked images of the two color options below.

Blass hasn’t released specs for the Sony WF-1000XM4, but a previous box leak gave us a decent idea of what’s to come. The earbuds are expected to maintain active noise cancellation and have six hours of continuous playback, which can be extended to 18 hours with the charging case. The leaked box also had a Hi-Res Audio (Wireless) certification stamp, meaning the WF-1000XM4 could get LDAC support that the WF-1000XM3 lacks.

There’s no word on when the Sony WF-1000XM4 will hit the market, but we could expect them to be in early June according to updated FCC documents.
