- Sony confirms that the Sony PlayStation 5 will only be sold online on launch day.
- It’s unclear how long PS5 sales will be online only, but you don’t have to queue up at a physical retailer on Day 1.
- The PS5 will go on sale on November 12th or 19th, depending on the region.

That means you won’t find any PS5 units at physical retailers on November 12th (for the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea) or November 19th (everywhere else).

Note, however, that pre-orders for the PS5 sold out within minutes. It is very likely that it will be incredibly difficult to snag a new console on PlayStation 5 launch day.
Sony wasn’t sure how long these online-only sales would take. We assume it will be at least a week after launch before you can even try buying one from a physical retailer. It’s much more likely that you won’t be able to get one until December.
