Sony’s PlayStation business has been booming for some time, and a large part of that success can be attributed to the exclusive games available on PlayStation consoles. Now it looks like the Japanese giant is working to bring some of these properties to the mobile arena.

“Mobile is just one of the areas we are exploring to reach millions of gamers outside of our platforms,” said Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, quoted at the Sony corporate strategy meeting (h / t: Gamespot).

“PlayStation has a huge catalog of various first-party IP addresses that can move to smartphone games and complement our AAA games or live service games. We’re exploring the wireless market with some wonderful PlayStation franchises. So stay tuned. “

Sony brought Uncharted Fortune Hunter to mobile back in 2016, but we haven’t seen any other first-party franchises on smartphones since then. But it sure sounds like Sony now has big plans in this regard. The company also has a variety of franchises to choose from, from God of War and The Last of Us to Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima.

This isn’t the only way Sony is taking advantage of its gaming features, as the company has a number of films and TV shows in the works based on PlayStation franchises.
