Sony finally explains the PS5’s PlayStation Plus Collection
- Sony has finally unveiled the PlayStation Plus collection, which will be released on November 12th with the PS5.
- It includes Sony hits like God of War and Uncharted 4, as well as third-party games like Final Fantasy XV and Resident Evil 7.
- The first PS5 game on PlayStation Plus will be kid-friendly Bugsnax.
Sony has been shy about describing the PS5 package of classic PS4 games, but you needn’t wonder anymore. The company has detailed exactly what you get with the PlayStation Plus collection, which will be available alongside the PS5 in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea starting November 12th. It will be available in the rest of the world when the PS5 hits those countries on November 19th.
The PlayStation Plus collection offers a mix of first and third party titles. Sony’s Worldwide Studios will host several major PS4 hits including God of War, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us Remastered, and Uncharted 4. The third-party selection is diverse and includes Battlefield 1, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition and Resident Evil 7 among others. You can see the full list below.

You don’t have to pay any additional costs for the PlayStation Plus collection beyond the PS5 and your Plus subscription. There aren’t any dramatic visual improvements, according to Sony, but you should see better or more consistent frame rates, as well as improved load times.
And yes, there will be PS5-native games on PlayStation Plus that will stand alongside the collection. The first PS5 Plus title is Bugsnax, the creature discovery game from Octodad inventor Young Horses. It will be available from November 12 through January 4, 2021, which suggests that you may not see more PS5 games on Plus until there is a richer library.
The PlayStation Plus collection and Bugsnax won’t satisfy every PS5 owner. You won’t find any other hits like Spider-Man. However, they could be crucial in attracting players who might be tempted to buy the Xbox Series X, not to mention PS4 holdouts. These give you a healthy selection of games to play once you start your new console, even if you’ve never used a PlayStation before.
