Sony delays PS5 event in light of nationwide protests
Playstation tweeted that it would be Playstation 5 delay Event originally planned for June 4th. Sony’s conference was originally planned to be streamed online as the world slowly tried to reopen in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic infected over 6 million people and killed more than 370,000 patients worldwide in the past six months.
“Although we understand that players around the world are excited to watch PS5 games, we don’t think this is a time to celebrate, and we want to step back and allow more important voices to be heard for now,” the tweet said .
The announcement comes after a weekend of nationwide protests against racial injustice. Most recently, tech giants like Apple, Facebook and Verizon Pledged millions to groups fighting racial injustice after the past week kill by George Floyd, an unarmed black man in police custody, sparked unrest in the United States.
