TL; DR
- An Egyptian received Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 days before it debuted.
- You confirm the design, including a new green color.
- The buds could hit the market on August 11th along with new phones and watches.
The next Samsung “starter” wireless earbuds may not be much more mysterious. The Egyptian Ahmed Qwaider did Receive a retail version of the Galaxy Buds 2 that shows you much of what to expect.
True to the many leaks, the Galaxy Buds 2 have a more harmonious design with a square charging case instead of the oval charger of the original. They also have a striking green color option. Qwaider didn’t talk about the audio quality or the software experience, although we wouldn’t expect a stunning experience if these were to be a step down from the Galaxy Buds Pro.

The Galaxy Buds 2 are believed to have active noise cancellation and a three-microphone system that helps with call quality. The charging case offers up to 20 hours of total playback with the ANC switched on and 30 hours without it. And don’t worry if you don’t like green – there are indications that Samsung ships the buds in shades of purple, black, and white.
It is not clear how Qwaider received a unit of sale, and it did not provide the release date or prices. However, many expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Buds 2 at its Unpacked event on Aug. 11, along with new foldable phones and the Galaxy Watch 4 line. If so, don’t be surprised if the earbuds are available within days of the announcement.
