Some iPhone 12 units affected by display tinting and flickering issues

According to reports from users and an internal memo from Apple, Apple’s latest flagship line is experiencing display issues.
MacRumors An internal document was reportedly shared with Apple service providers. The document indicates that Apple is aware of reported green or yellow hues and flickering issues with some new iPhones.
Apple allegedly asked service centers not to operate these phones to fix the issues, which suggests the company believes it is more of a software problem than a panel issue.
Users on the official Apple forums first highlighted the issues in early November. One user claims that the color problem on an iPhone 12 occurs when the screen brightness is below 90%. “Black pixels are not turned off in dynamic scenes. In static scenes, black pixels are switched off afterwards [a] a few seconds, ”said the poster. You can see an example below.
Another Reddit user claims that his iPhone 12 Pro Max’s display will flicker under certain conditions. “Definitely not noticeable when watching videos or movies, even if the black bars are on the sides, but now that I’ve seen it I’m actually a little bothered,” the user writes. Reddit has plenty of other posts from users claiming similar issues with their brand new iPhones.
The iPhone 12 wouldn’t be the first phone to experience screen issues this year. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has also come under fire from some owners for nervous touch registration and zoom animations. Samsung has since released three firmware patches to address the issue, but it appears that some users are still having issues. Previously, devices like Google’s Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3 series and OnePlus 8 had some problems with color tint.
