Snap announces Story Studio, a new standalone app to edit stories – ProWellTech

While Snap Partner SummitSnap announced a brand new app that is focused on developers. This standalone iOS app called Story Studio gives you a variety of editing tools to help you make your content as professional as possible.

The story editing tools are still in Snapchat – nothing changes on that front. However, if you’ve created content for Spotlight, a TikTok-like feed, or a Snap-Star, you may need more powerful editing tools. Many creators choose to edit their stories on a computer.

But many developers also want to do everything on their phones. Because of this, there are already some powerful video editing tools out there. But Snap is making its own app to make it work better with Snapchat.

Story Studio lets you see what’s already trending on Snapchat. It contains sounds, themes and lenses. This allows you to remix popular content and create your own version of the current meme.

According to Snap, Story Studio allows you to edit your recordings to the exact frame. You can add captions, stickers, and other visual elements. You can also use the company’s licensed music catalog.

And because it’s supposed to be a serious storytelling app, you can save a project and edit it later.

When you’re done, you can share your video on Snapchat – you can use it to post a story or spotlight video. Story Studio will also work with other platforms. You can save it on your camera roll or export your video to other apps on your phone.

Story Studio will be released later this year. It will be available exclusively for iOS for now.

While Snapchat started off as an app to chat with your friends, it’s clear that the company is now looking to attract a generation of developers with the right tools and monetization options. Developers have become a competitive space for social apps like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube with YouTube Shorts and Snapchat.

Snap’s own approach to short viral videos has worked relatively well so far. Spotlight reaches 125 million active users on Snapchat every month. The number of users seeing at least 10 minutes of Spotlight per day increased by 70% between January and March.

In addition to Story Studio, Snap a Web platform for spotlight. This allows users to view Spotlight content without launching Snapchat, even while browsing the internet on their desktop computer. This could also be a way to attract new Snapchat users.

Developers in particular will like this website as it lets you upload videos to Spotlight from Chrome or Safari.

When it comes to monetization, Snap distributes $ 1 million daily to Snapchat users who create the best Snaps for Spotlight. 5,400 developers have earned $ 130 million as of November 2020. The company won’t be giving away $ 1 million a day on June 1. Snap just says it plans to give millions every month.

But creators can accept gifts right on Snapchat. When Snapchat users reply to a story, they can buy Snap tokens and send them as a gift – a virtual item with real value. The company hasn’t detailed how it plans to split the revenue between Snap and the developers. Gift giving will be rolled out later this year on Android and iOS.
