The simpsons animated TV series entertained fans 30 years of funny antics by Homer Simpson and his family, but the show was good at that too predict the future.
Recently fans noticed the Simpsons predicted both COVID-19 and hornets. The Simpsons also saw it ahead Disney buys Fox almost 20 years ago, as predicted Donald Trump would one day become US President.
Many entertainment websites and Simpsons fan sites contain lists of the best real predictions the show made. However, nothing is as interactive and complete as this Simpson’s data visualization guide made by analytical consultant and fan Seffana Mohamed-Ajaz.
The guide includes all of The Simpsons’ predictions that came true in the real world. The guide shows 40 predictions including the FIFA football scandal, FaceTime, smart watches, faulty voting machines and even mutated tomatoes and three-eyed fish.
“I’ve always been interested in how the Simpsons subtly predict the future of its consequences,” Mohamed-Ajaz wrote on the guide’s website. “The predictions were collected by reading different articles and watching different YouTube videos that deal with the topic.”
This guide lists certain predictions in a particular episode, the year of the episode, and especially the year in which the prediction came true.
It is interesting to note that some of The Simpsons’ predictions that were shown in the 1990s did not materialize until the late 2000s. For example, the predictions of the outbreak of the corona virus and the invasion of the hornets came from an episode in 1993, but finally came true in 2020.
