Signal helps you transfer chats to a new phone

If you’re one of the many people who struggled against WhatsApp’s new privacy policy (whether earned or not) and switched to Signal, you probably have a long question: how do you transfer those secure chats to a new phone? Fortunately, the developers have you covered. How Test catalog and XDA Signal has reportedly released a Beta 5.5.0 app for Android that you can use to migrate conversations.
A new tool in Signal Beta uses a private Wi-Fi Direct connection to transfer chats from your old device to the new one. You will need to keep both phones close by during the migration, but this will ensure that your messages will remain encrypted and thus not visible to certain thieves or spies. You can start the process by going to the “Chats” section in the app’s settings on your older phone and tapping “Transfer Account”.

It is not certain when the chats transfer function will reach stable signal release. You can hold back if you insist on reliability.
Unsurprisingly, a transmission tool would get Signal at this point. The developers have been trying to add functionality as WhatsApp users flock to the platform, and the migration is the next logical step. That way, Signal will keep you loyal if you fail to part ways for Telegram (which already has a chat history tool) or some other alternative. Not many are necessarily going to complain – this could put your mind at ease when you are thinking of upgrading phones and keeping your messages intact.
