Sennheiser CX True Wireless — premium ‘buds for less
TL; DR
- The latest Sennheiser earbuds improve their predecessors with an IPX4 rating and longer battery life.
- The earphones support Bluetooth 5.2 and the high-quality Bluetooth codecs AAC and aptX.
- The Sennheiser CX True Wireless will be available July 8 and will cost $ 129.95.
Sennheiser is known for its audiophile headphones, but has shown quite a lot of enthusiasm for the consumer audio market lately. The company’s latest version is the Sennheiser CX True Wireless, replacing the impressive CX 400BT. The German company remains true to its roots and attaches great importance to sound quality, but does not forego desired upgrades such as waterproofness and longer battery life.
These are among the first true wireless earbuds to use the Bluetooth 5.2 firmware, which leaves the door open for LE Audio and LC3 codec support. As of release, we know these earbuds support three Bluetooth codecs: SBC, AAC and aptX, so you can enjoy consistent, high quality audio regardless of your source device. In addition, Bluetooth 5.2 further improves energy efficiency and contributes to the long battery life of the earphones.
The earphones from Sennheiser last nine hours on a single charge, which corresponds to a total of 27 hours of playtime with the reserve power of the USB-C housing. The Sennheiser Smart Control app gives listeners access to a full range of EQ controls that are great for those with specific preferences. If the Sennheiser CX 400BT and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 are signs of this, the standard sound profile of the CX True Wireless amplifies bass and treble with a de-emphasis in the upper mids. This will be confirmed after we finish testing.
Starting July 8, the Sennheiser CX True Wireless will be available in black or white for $ 129.95 while you are in North America.
