Second One UI 3.0 beta update rolling out now in USA

Today Samsung started rolling out the second beta update for One UI 3.0 (via SamMobile). The update is currently rolled out in the US exclusively for Galaxy S20 phones that are registered for the beta program.

This is the second beta update for the next iteration of Samsung’s Android skin. Based on Android 11, the new One UI will land on all of Samsung’s flagships for 2020 and 2019 when it finally becomes stable.

One UI 3.0 Beta 2: What’s New?

According to SamMobileThe second beta update contains the firmware version G98xU1UEU1ZTJG. It’s about 600MB in size and brings with it a lot of bug fixes and feature updates.

The most notable changes in the latest beta are as follows:

  • A fix for a bug that prevented a phone from booting when its memory was full
  • A fix for a bug that caused phones to sometimes restart when receiving a call
  • Various bug fixes related to Dex, including those that caused problems changing fonts

As you’d expect, the One UI 3.0 Beta 2 also includes the October 2020 Android security patch, which is unsurprising as this was also included in the first beta.

If you have a Galaxy S20 device in the US and you are enrolled in the beta program, you should see the latest beta update for One UI 3.0 soon. You can always search for it manually by going to Settings> Software Update> Download and Install.
