Samsung Galaxy S21
The Vanilla Galaxy S21 is the smallest and cheapest of the three phones in the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. You get a palm-friendly 6.2-inch display and basically the same specs as the Galaxy S21 Plus. You’ll have to sacrifice battery capacity a bit though, as the Galaxy S21 only has one 4,000 mAh cell. Your wallet will be happy, however, as the phone’s starting price is only $ 799.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 series on January 14, 2021. Pre-orders opened on the same day, while the devices were available in stores in the US and Europe on January 29, 2021. All three phones immediately launched with Android 11, with Samsung’s One UI 3.1 skin on top.
Samsung has been releasing updates to its devices lately, and that trend continues with the Galaxy S21 series.
Long before the phone got into consumer hands, Samsung released two updates. Per SamMobile, Firmware versions G991BXXU1AUAB, G996BXXU1AUAB and G998BXXU1AUAC improved camera and device performance and weighed around 278MB.
In early February, the Galaxy S21 series received the Android security patch for February 2021 in its first update after launch. However, users on the Reddit and Samsung forums have noted that the update may have caused battery drain issues on some devices. Those who struggled found that switching the phone to airplane mode stopped the drain, suggesting cellular network connectivity was the culprit.

A second update posted to users on February 14th appeared to be clogging the drain. Per PhoneArenaThe update brought the firmware version G99xBXXU1AUB6 and weighed just under 260 MB. According to the changelog, improvements in device stability, additional performance improvements, and expanded features have been achieved.
