On Friday, some Twitter users noted that the President’s Twitter account was listed under the “People” tab to search for “racist”. Several CNET employees saw the same result when logged out of an account and using a private web browser mode. Many of the accounts that appeared on the People tab in search results included the words “racist” or “racism” in their Twitter name or BIOS.
A Twitter spokeswoman said that if users mention an account alongside certain terms, the account and keywords may appear algorithmically as a search recommendation. A search on Twitter shows that users mentioned Trump’s account with the word “racist”.

Trump was involved in a fight with Twitter and other social media sites. The President last week signed an executive order The aim is to limit the legal protection that protects Facebook, Twitter and other online companies from liability for content published by their users. On Tuesday, Trump sued the Center for Democracy and Technologyclaims that the order violates the first change and is retaliatory against Twitter.
The executive order came after Twitter added fact-checking labels two tweets in which Trump claimed that mail-in votes were “fraudulent”. If you click on the Twitter label “Get the Facts”, you will get to a page with news agency tweets stating that postal ballot papers are rarely associated with election fraud and that Trump’s claims are “unfounded.”
Twitter also veiled a tweet from the president about protests in Minnesota, put it behind a note that is, it violates the company’s “glorify violence” rules. However, since it is in the public interest to be informed of the President’s statements, according to Twitter, users can click the Show button in the message to read the tweet.
Twitter’s actions seem to have been a turning point in a long strained relationship between conservatives and social media companies. Republicans say their speech is censored by Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites, although companies have repeatedly denied participating in such censorship.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
