Samsung’s revamped SmartThings app could make it a better smart home option
SmartThings often falls short when compared to competing smart home platforms like Apple and Google, but Samsung believes it can change your mind. How Android headquarters notes that the company has rolled out a revamped SmartThings user interface for Android (iOS coming soon) that could give you a reason to choose the technology over competing heavyweights.

Samsung credits the new SmartThings user interface as being faster and easier, with everything broken down into five sections: favorites, devices, life (for discovering services), automations, and a collectible menu. If you always turn on the living room light and TV when you get home, you will theoretically find it easier to turn them on.
The makeover comes after Samsung introduced a similar experience for Galaxy Books and other PCs with the recently launched SmartThings Windows app.
This might put you off if you are used to the earlier SmartThings user interface. However, it also seems much more understandable at first glance. That might make it a viable alternative if you are either frustrated with the competition or want to try the platform that was designed for your Galaxy phone.
