Samsung’s first Fan Edition Galaxy Tab makes large tablets more accessible
Samsung is bringing the success of its Fan Edition phones to the tablet world. WinFuture reports that Samsung has quietly launched a Galaxy Tab S7 Fan Edition in Germany (actually the first Fan Edition tablet) that brings in some choice buffs to improve the accessibility of the company’s flagship tablet line.
The Fan Edition has the same 12.4-inch display size, S Pen functionality and keyboard support as the regular Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, but lowers the AMOLED screen with 2,800 x 1,752 and the refresh rate of 120 Hz in favor of a 2,560 x 1,600p -LCD. Instead of an 865 Plus, you’ll also find a mid-range Snapdragon 750G chip. There is only 4 GB of RAM, although the 64 GB base memory is thankfully expandable.

The Fan Edition Galaxy Tab uses a single 8-megapixel rear-view camera instead of the dual 13MP and 5MP sensors of the S7 Plus. For your video chats, you have to settle for a 5-megapixel front camera instead of 8-megapixel cameras. You don’t have to compromise with the 10,090 mAh battery, however, and you have reportedly got an estimated 12 hours of run time for LTE.
Samsung is currently only taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S7 Fan Edition in Germany, where you can reserve a 5G model with 64GB of storage for a price of 649 euros or around 792 US dollars. Publications in other countries are not mentioned so far.
This price may sound like a lot, but it is below the basic cost of the smaller Tab S7 of 698 euros. In the US, the 128 GB Galaxy Tab S7 Plus with cellular data costs around $ 1,050. You save a lot of money on a tablet this big, and it might be worth it if you’re more interested in a big screen for your ideas than top-notch performance. It could also be a viable alternative to the more expensive 2021 iPad Pro, though selling previous-generation models could bridge the price gap.
