Samsung W21 5G brings Galaxy Z Fold 2 specs in a larger body

  • Samsung has launched a new phone that is similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, but with a larger body.
  • It’s called the Samsung W21 5G and it has a metallic gold finish.
  • The foldable phone is currently only available in China.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is already a huge take-away device, but the brand has now launched an even larger version of the foldable phone.

The device, known as the Samsung W21 5G, is currently only available in China. No, it’s not the Chinese version of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 as Samsung is already selling it in the country.

The only difference between the W21 5G and the Z Fold 2 is a more eye-catching design and a bigger body.

The shell of the W21 5G has a metallic gold finish with a ribbed texture on the back. It’s still covered in glass on the back, but we’re not sure if Samsung is using the same Gorilla Glass Victus that it uses on the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The company also applied a “7-layer nano-level optical film” to the glass back adding to the polished gold of the phone.

The Samsung W21 5G still has a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.23-inch external screen. Other specs of the phone are also identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, including the Snapdragon 865 Plus chip, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, dual SIM slots, and Android 10.

The phone is priced at 19,999 Chinese yuan (~ $ 3,019) compared to the price of 17,000 Chinese yuan for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 (~ $ 2,566). There is no word about a global start of the device. Samsung’s W series is traditionally only sold in China. So we doubt it will have that name even if Samsung launches the phone in other markets.
