Samsung rolls out Android 11 to Galaxy S20 owners on Verizon
- Samsung Galaxy S20 owners on Verizon now get Android 11 and One UI 3.0.

There was the word that Samsung could release Android 11 and One UI 3.0 in December, and it stayed true to its word. Droid life reports that Verizon (Disclaimer: This author also writes for Verizon’s own Engadget) started rolling out the Android 11 update for its variants of the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra.
As expected, the update mostly revolves around Samsung’s One UI 3.0 additions, including more control over the home and lock screens, an improved web browser, and improvements to everything from calendars to contacts. It also provides information on features like making Wireless DeX available to everyone.
Other improvements are linked to Android 11 itself, e.g. B. Special sections for conversations and media in the Quick Panel as well as better privacy protection.

This appears to be the first US deployment for Samsung’s Android 11 update to come before the unlocked Galaxy S20 models. However, this also leaves a lot of people stuck with Android 10 in the near future. Even the Galaxy S20 FE has been excluded from the upgrade cycle for the time being.
As it stands, you probably have to be patient, even if you’re a Verizon-bound owner. The update likely won’t hit every device anytime soon, and our Galaxy S20 Plus device has yet to get the new software as we write this. However, this is good news if you were hoping to have the latest Google operating system on your Galaxy before the year is up.
