Samsung launches Galaxy M12 with 6,000mAh battery, 90Hz display

The Samsung M-series is typically aimed at younger buyers who want both affordability and flashy specs. Think of it as the company’s answer to budget phones from Xiaomi and Realme. The new Samsung Galaxy M12 is now available in India to compete with the Redmi Note 10. 10,999 (~ $ 151).
The latest Samsung candidate has a 6.5-inch 90 Hz Infinity V display. The weight of this high refresh rate screen is supported by a massive 6,000 mAh battery with a 15 W charge time. Together, these two variables make the Samsung Galaxy M12 very popular in its price range. In comparison, the Redmi Note 10 offers a smaller 5,000 mAh battery, but with a 33 W charge, and a 60 Hz screen.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy M12 gets the 8 nm Exynos 850 processor that we saw earlier for Samsung’s A series and recently for the Galaxy XCover 5. The chipset is almost two years old and will likely outperform the Redmi Note 10, the M12 with its Snapdragon 678 SoC. Although the latter is based on the 11nm process, Qualcomm’s chips are generally better than Samsung’s in-house silicones.
Elsewhere, the Galaxy M12 offers a quad-camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and two 2-megapixel depth and macro shooters. There is an 8MP sensor for selfies on the front.
If you’re interested in the Samsung Galaxy M12, there are two RAM and storage options to choose from. The standard model has 4 GB of RAM + 64 GB of storage at the above price. There is also a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant available at retail outlets for Rs. 13,499 (~ 185 USD).
The phone will be available in India on March 18 at Samsung.com, Amazon and select retail stores.
