Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 renders and features revealed in leak

TL; DR

  • Renderings and some features of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 have been leaked.
  • The smartwatch appears to have a thicker case and wider straps.
  • It should come with the revised Wear OS software.

Samsung is expected to launch two new smartwatches with different models on June 28th. The star of the show will be the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, but the company is also expected to announce the Galaxy Watch Active 4, the successor to the popular Galaxy Watch Active 2 AufLeaks, in cooperation with GizContinue, has leaked the first renders of the new Active range of handhelds along with some details about their features.

As can be seen in the renders, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 retains the round display of its predecessor. The leakers claim that a flat 2D glass protects the screen.

The most notable changes can be seen in the design of the frame, buttons, and ribbon. The watch itself looks thicker and so does the band. The two buttons on the right edge of the device also have a different shape.

Leaked information suggests that the Galaxy Watch Active 4’s case is made of aluminum. It will be available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, just like the Galaxy Watch Active 2.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 renders color variants

The smartwatch is also shown in four different color options, including black, silver, green, and gold. However, the shades depicted in these renderings are not 100% accurate.

As for the features, the leak suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 will carry the new Wear OS 3.0 software. Samsung and Google worked together to redesign Wear OS, and the new smartwatch should be one of the first wearables to launch.

Elsewhere, the leakers claim the watch will use a 5nm processor, so it is not one of Qualcomm’s 12nm Snapdragon Wear 4100 chips or Samsung’s self-made 10nm Exynos 9110 chipset that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is running on.

Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t reveal any more information about the watch’s health and fitness features, but you don’t have to wait long to find out as the launch is next week.
