Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 tipped to launch on Aug 3

Galaxy Z Flip Samsung Unpacked 2020

TL; DR

  • Samsung could launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Watch 4 series on August 3rd.
  • The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 could go on sale on August 11th.

Samsung has reportedly stopped production of the Galaxy S21 FE, but that doesn’t mean its other upcoming devices are not on schedule. The reliable leaker Max Weinbach has announced the possible launch date for Samsung’s new smartwatches and foldable phones.

According to Weinbach’s non-cryptic tweet, the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch Active 4, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 could hit the market on August 3rd. Weinbach does not explicitly state that this is the date for the next Samsung Unpacked conference. However, given the number of rumors set to hit the market, we could very well see Samsung hosting the marquee that day.

The launch date is also in line with last year’s Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5th, when Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 20. With the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 expected to fill the Note series void this year, it’s only fair, Samsung announced them around the same time you’d expect a new Galaxy Note.

In addition to Weinbach’s leak, tipster Jon Prosser also claims that Samsung will start shipping the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 from August 11th. That is a week after the alleged launch date on August 3rd. The foldable phones, on the other hand, could begin shipping on August 27, according to Prosser.

Meanwhile an earlier report from a Korean media company The Elec suggested that Samsung could launch the two foldable phones in July.

We’re not sure which leak is right, but Weinbach has a good track record, so we’d much rather believe what he has to say. Still, Samsung has not officially announced or suggested anything. If the new Galaxy devices are actually scheduled to launch on August 3rd, the company should announce something more specific next month.
