Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 in titanium comes to the US on October 2
- Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Watch 3 in Titanium on October 2 for $ 600.
- The new model has a lighter, more luxurious case and a metal strap.
- However, it is only available in one size and without LTE.
If the standard Galaxy Watch 3 isn’t chic enough for you, Samsung offers a premium alternative. Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Watch 3 in the US on October 2, priced at $ 600 for a 45mm Bluetooth model in Mystic Black.
That’s a significant premium over the $ 430 price point for a stainless steel Galaxy Watch 3, but the company promises some practical benefits if you choose titanium. The body of the upscale version weighs 1.5 ounces versus 1.9 ounces of the steel counterpart. This doesn’t include the strap (more on that in a moment), but it could make the new version easier to wear for a longer period of time.
This is the only Galaxy Watch 3 variant that is equipped with a metal strap instead of the usual leather strap. Whether you prefer the aesthetics or not, the material makes the watch more practical for fitness – you can wear it during intense workouts without having to worry about sweat.
Otherwise, you’ll get the same watch as before, with SpO2 (blood oxygen) monitoring to keep track of your heart’s effectiveness, in addition to more general features like heart rate tracking and VO2 max. The display is still covered with Gorilla Glass DX, and a dual-core Exynos 9110 chip provides the wristbands with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It remains IP68 waterproof and offers military-grade durability.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 The newest and best smartwatch from Samsung
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is one of the most versatile smartwatches you can buy. It’s stylish, sporty, has plenty of smartwatch features and new health sensors that keep the watch improving over time.
Just make sure you like the size and connectivity. In contrast to the steel watch Galaxy Watch 3, the Titan Edition is only available in a 45 mm Bluetooth configuration. You won’t find a 41mm version for thinner wrists, nor will you get LTE. If you’d rather leave your phone at home while you stay connected, you have to settle for steel.
Still, this is one of the few luxury-oriented Samsung smartwatches that has been available in recent years, and it is certainly the only luxury Galaxy Watch 3 that you can buy for yourself. The Thom Browne model (actually the standard version with a unique strap) is only available with a limited edition Galaxy Z Fold 2.
The Galaxy Watch 3 model is also one of the few relatively affordable titanium smartwatches that go beyond certain versions of the Apple Watch. After that, look for much more expensive (and less powerful) options like the TAG Heuer Connected series. Samsung is offering some kind of bargain – this is one of the few Android-friendly smartwatches that is available in a high-end material and yet remains reasonably accessible.
