Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 leaks, looks like iPad
TL; DR
- Samsung is working on its next budget Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab A8.
- The renders show a rear camera similar to the iPad mini 2021.
- A release date and most of the specifications remain unknown.
New renderings claim to show the look of the upcoming Galaxy Tab A8 2021, which could be even more similar to the Apple iPad for better or worse than the other current Android tablets from Samsung.
This is due to the rear view camera, which has changed from a square shape to a round shape on the Galaxy Tab A7, similar to the iPad mini 2021. The plasters were produced by 91Mobile in collaboration with popular leak source Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as @OnLeaks.
The A7 already borrows a lot from the iPad, including similarly placed ports and speaker grilles, the latter of which are even shaped like iPads. There are of course design differences, such as: B. the placement of the front camera, which assumes a use in landscape format instead of portrait format. A common complaint about iPads is that in landscape mode, it’s easy to accidentally block the cameras during video calls or Face ID logins.
Few functional details of the A8 have been leaked, but the tablet will reportedly use a 10.4-inch display, presumably with a resolution of FHD + (2,220 x 1,080) or higher. It is also said to have an 8 MP rear view camera, USB-C and 3.5 mm audio ports, and internal quad speakers with Dolby Atmos. A 4G version could be made available, unlike the A7 which currently only has Wi-Fi.
Price, release date and other details are still missing. However, it will likely cost about the same as the A7, which was $ 230 for a 32GB model when it launched. Samsung could be forced to increase the base memory. 32GB is now often considered anemic for any tablet, even with a microSD slot.
