Samsung Galaxy S30 leaks in first crop of renders

Samsung Galaxy S30 leaks in first crop of renders 2

  • Reliable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (also known as @OnLeaks) has just released renderings that supposedly depict the Samsung Galaxy S30.
  • The phone has a new camera design that makes the bump a lot more muted.
  • This is a very early leak for the Galaxy S series, suggesting that Samsung might start the phone earlier than usual.

Reliable smartphone leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer today released some pictures that he claims are from the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S30. Galaxy S phones usually don’t leak until late December or early January. However, given that there are multiple rumors that Samsung may launch its latest flagships much earlier than usual in 2021, these early leaks seem to support those rumors.

You can see the leaked images below. Keep in mind that Inhibitor has a lot of influence when it comes to leaks like this, but they are still leaks. Take them as such with the proverbial grain of salt.

According to Hemmerstoffer, these renderings are intended for the vanilla Galaxy S30, that is, as far as we know, the smallest of the series. He says it measures approximately 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9 mm. However, this last measurement increases to 9.0mm if you include the camera shock.

Speaking of camera bump: in this design it seems to be far more subdued compared to the Galaxy S20 series (and especially the Galaxy Note 20 series). We can’t infer anything from the renders alone, but it appears that Samsung built the bump module right into the body of the phone. If so, this is an excellent way to keep the thickness of the module for better photo quality while not adding as much thickness to the phone.

As expected, the renderers also show a centered selfie camera within a display section (this time no selfie camera in the display) and the lack of a headphone jack. It seems that Samsung is determined to ditch the 3.5mm port in its flagships for good.
