- A Twitter leaker has claimed that none of the Galaxy S22 series phones will have a selfie camera under the display.
- The leaker adds that the phones will hit the market in January 2022 and the Ultra model will have a 108 MP camera.
We’re just past the middle of 2021, but we saw a ton of rumors and leaks about the Galaxy S22 ahead of its supposed 2022 launch date. Now, one frequent tipper has made a few more claims about Samsung’s 2022 flagships.
According to the Twitter leaker FrontTron, none of the phones in the Galaxy S22 series will be equipped with a selfie camera under the display. This confirms an earlier report from Korea. The Twitter tipster also claimed that the devices would hit the market in January 2022, which would be in line with the Galaxy S21 family.
FrontTron also claims that Samsung will use a 108-megapixel main camera for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, disproving a questionable report earlier this week that Samsung’s Ultra flagship will have a 200-megapixel Olympus-branded camera. Nor is this the first time we’ve heard of a 108 MP main camera for the upcoming Ultra model, as Ice Universe also claimed that Samsung will offer an upgraded 108 MP sensor.
This isn’t the only camera-related rumor we’ve heard recently, as FrontTron previously claimed that the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will come with 50 MP main cameras instead of 12 MP sensors. So it looks like the Standard and Plus variants are getting an overdue upgrade in this regard.
In any case, it seems like those hoping for a full-screen Galaxy S22 series phone may be disappointed. Do you think the upcoming phones should have a selfie camera under the display? Let us know via the poll below.
