TL; DR

  • Several specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have been leaked.
  • The information highlights battery, camera and SoC changes in the new phones.

Samsung is many months away from launching its next flagship Galaxy S, but that hasn’t stopped Leaker from suggesting what to expect from the phones. Twitter tipster FrontTron put out some key specs of the rumored Galaxy S22 series, combining what we’ve already heard with some fresh details.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Specifications Rumors

At the beginning, the leaker reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S22 would have a 6.06-inch LTPS display, while the S22 Plus would have a 6.55-inch screen. Only the Galaxy S22 Ultra will get an LTPO panel with a 6.81-inch footprint. It looks like Samsung isn’t changing much in this area compared to the Galaxy S21 series.

Next, the leak reveals some new camera specs for the Galaxy S22 trio. The source previously said that the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus would house a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 12 MP telesensor. We’re now getting details on the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s camera configuration, which suggests the phone has a 108 MP main sensor, two 12 MP telephoto shooters (from 10 MP on the S21 Ultra) and another 12 MP Ultra Includes wide camera. Rumor has it that the setup will also include laser autofocus.

The batteries that power the Vanilla Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus could be a little less powerful this time. The phones could get by with 3,800 mAh or 4,600 mAh batteries, in contrast to the 4,000 mAh and 4,800 mAh batteries of the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will get a 5,000 mAh battery, just like the current Ultra model. The lineup is expected to skip a camera under the display as well.

Limited availability of Exynos models with AMD GPU

Samsung is expected to power the Galaxy S22 phones with a new, more powerful Exynos 2200 chipset. Its specialty will be AMD graphics, which brings ray tracing and shading capabilities to the phones at a variable rate.

Unfortunately, the latest leak claims that the availability of the Exynos Galaxy S22 models will be very limited due to the low yield of the chipset. As a result, most markets should get the Snapdragon 898 version of the phones with the Adreno GPU.
