TL; DR
- Renders apparently showing the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus have been leaked online.
- It shows a phone that looks almost identical to the Galaxy S21 Plus.
We got our first supposed look at the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra yesterday, as serial leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer and Digit.in Shared renderings supposedly showing the 2022 flagship. Now it looks like we’ve taken a first look at the Galaxy S22 Plus as well.
Inhibitor and 91Mobile published renderings (see below) that appear to show the middle child of the Galaxy S22 series in a green color scheme. And it looks like the S22 Plus has a lot in common with its predecessor, such as a center punch hole cutout and the same triple camera body mounted in the left corner of the back cover. The position of the lightning bolt is also identical to the 2021 Plus model.
In terms of I / O, Samsung seems to have moved the volume buttons a little further down the side of the phone compared to the S21 Plus. Otherwise, you have a USB-C port, speaker grille, and SIM tray on the bottom of the phone. The phone is also said to measure 157.4mm x 75.8mm x 7.6mm, with the camera hump increasing the thickness to 9.1mm.
Oddly enough, Hemmerstoffer told the point of sale that he received the renders as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Pro rather than the Galaxy S22 Plus. We’ll have to wait for more leaks and official information to find out if Samsung actually opts for a name change.
However, it wouldn’t be the first time a pro name has been touted for an upcoming Samsung phone. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 Plus became that Galaxy Note 10 Pro from multiple sources prior to its disclosure, but this apparently didn’t work out.
In any case, the S22 Plus looks more like a further development of the S21 Plus. Meanwhile, the leaked renders of the S22 Ultra show a device that is drastically different from the S21 Ultra, with an S Pen slot and a P-shaped camera hump.
