  • The Galaxy S21 Ultra has landed in the FCC database.
  • Samsung’s filing also confirms S-Pen support in the new phone.

Samsung confirmed earlier this month that it will carry over the “most popular features” of the Galaxy Note to other Galaxy phones across multiple websites and Leaks directly claims that the Galaxy S21 would offer Ultra S-Pen support.

Now what appears to be the Galaxy S21 Ultra (model number SMG998B) has been swung by the FCC, and we’ve found that the tray actually confirms S-Pen support. In fact, the listing shows that the new smartphone also supports the hover functionality. This allows users to hold the S-Pen over the screen (without touching the display) to perform various functions, such as: B. previewing content or displaying a pointer. Take a look at the screenshot below.

“The EUT [device being tested – ed] can also be used with a pen device (S-Pen). The EUT works with the S-Pen in two different inductive coupling modes of the S-Pen motion detection (hover and click) … ”, it says in an excerpt from one of the test reports.

While don’t expect the S-Pen to come with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, we wouldn’t be surprised if it comes with the phone as part of some promotions. You may need a special case to hold the pen as the phone is not expected to have the required slot.

Otherwise, the FCC filing also confirms several other expected wireless features, such as UWB functionality, NFC, wireless power transfer (i.e. reverse wireless charging), wireless charging, and Wi-Fi 6E.
