  • The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE may not get a battery upgrade at all this year.
  • Unlike the Galaxy S20 FE, which has the S20 Plus battery, the new Fan Edition’s battery may not be able to be borrowed from the S21 Plus.

Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE shared the same battery as the flagship Galaxy S20 Plus. If you expected this trend to continue into 2021 and hope that the Galaxy S21 FE will receive the 4,800 mAh battery found in the S21 Plus, you may be disappointed.

According to people at GalaxyClubThe Samsung Galaxy S21 FE could get by with a 4,500 mAh battery, just like its predecessor.

In the publication, a battery model number EB-BG990ABY was discovered which matches the phone’s alleged model number SM-G990B. It has a nominal capacity of 4,370 mAh. Samsung will likely market it as a 4,500 mAh battery.

This isn’t a bad battery size, of course. A recent poll on Android Authority shows that most people are currently using phones with batteries up to 4,500 mAh.

The Galaxy S20 FE also showed great battery life with the same 4,500 mAh cell. In the course of our review, we managed to use the device for more than a full day, and we expect the same from the upcoming Fan Edition.

If the Galaxy S21 FE takes over features like wireless charging and wireless PowerShare from its predecessor, which it most likely does, you could have a well-rounded phone when it comes to battery functions.
