Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G to launch in India at the end of March

When the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE launched globally late last year, India missed out on the 5G Qualcomm version. Instead, the country only received the 4G Exynos model with little hope of the next 5G variant. Now, almost half a year later, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is launched in India.
Samsung Approved his plans in a tweet. There’s no mention of the Snapdragon chipset’s name, but we’d be surprised if it wasn’t the Snapdragon 865 used for global 5G models. Given that there are still rumors of a launch of the Galaxy S21 FE later this year, we doubt Samsung would go for the Snapdragon 888 in this particular model.
Together with the 5G Smarts, the Snapdragon variant should offer improved gaming performance compared to the Exynos 990. In addition, the 4G and 5G versions hardly differ from each other on paper. However, marketing material suggests that there may be limited color release. Only three shades, namely Cloud Navy, Cloud Lavender and Cloud Mint, are included in the rendering.
For Samsung, the launch could be a response to the stream of budget 5G flagship phones arriving in the country. The OnePlus 9R and the Vivo X60 come to mind. The country will also soon welcome the Xiaomi Mi 11 series. Given the ongoing pressure on semiconductors, it is an easy way for Samsung to restart an existing product with older chipsets in order to establish itself in the market segment as well.
In terms of availability, India users don’t have to wait too long to secure one. The sale of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G begins on March 30th. There is no pricing information yet. However, given the 4G Galaxy S20 FE that launched for Rs 49,999 (~ $ 688), it is possible that the 5G variant could break the 50,000 rupee limit.
