TL; DR
- Samsung launched the Galaxy M21 2021 Edition in India.
- The phone isn’t a huge improvement over the original device, but it does offer a slight visual refresh.
- In India it comes to less than 15,000 rupees.
A new Samsung large battery midranger is available in India this month. The Korean company has announced the arrival of the Galaxy M21 2021 Edition in the country.
As the name suggests, the Galaxy M21 2021 edition isn’t a huge upgrade from the original M21 that launched in March 2020. Visually, it differs slightly.
While the M21 2021 retains the 20 MP water-drop selfie shooter from its predecessor, it includes a redesigned rear-view camera array. The primary 48 MP sensor now sits alone and below the 8 MP ultra wide and 5 MP depth sensors. The back also has a pinstripe design. There is also a physical fingerprint sensor on the back.
There is a 6.4-inch FHD + AMOLED screen on the front of the phone, while inside there is an unnamed 10nm octa-core CPU. Samsung is probably using the Exynos 9611 again here. This chip is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery that continues the precedent of the previous Galaxy M models. A 15 W charging system is also available.
Other features include an SD card slot, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, GPS, dual-band WiFi and a USB-C port.
Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 Edition: price and availability
The Galaxy M21 2021 Edition with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is slightly cheaper than its predecessor at Rs 12,499 (~ $ 164). It’s a tiny improvement of about $ 6, but it’s an improvement nonetheless.
If you own a Galaxy M21, you don’t have to worry about upgrading. Of course, those looking for spec improvement should look further up the Samsung ladder or consider the long list of alternatives. That price drops the Galaxy M21 2021 below the impressive Redmi Note 10 and the 5G packing Poco M3 Pro.
