- Samsung launched the Galaxy F52 5G in China.
- It shares the same chipset, battery size, and refresh rate as the Galaxy A52 5G.
- However, the phone sees several downgrades.
The Samsung Galaxy F-series is the latest series of devices and is essentially aimed at a similar price segment as the budget M-series. Now Samsung has launched the Galaxy F52 5G and has some in common with the recently launched Galaxy A52 5G.
For starters, both phones have a Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset, which should allow for a good level of system and gaming performance. The latest Samsung phone also features the A52 5G’s 120Hz refresh rate, 4,500mAh battery, 25W wired charging capabilities, and 64MP f / 1.8 main camera.
This is where the comparisons end, however, as the Galaxy F52 5G, unlike the OLED panel of the A52 5G, has a TFT LCD screen. We also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of the built-in fingerprint sensor on the more expensive phone, as well as no IP rating (which the A52 5G offers).
Otherwise, the Galaxy F52 5G offers 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of expandable storage and a less impressive quad camera system (64 MP main, 8 MP ultra-wide and two 2 MP sensors). Selfies are processed by a 16MP punch-hole shooter. Other notable features include USB-C, a 3.5mm port, and Samsung One UI 3.1 on Android 11.
Samsung’s newest budget phone is currently only available in China and starts at 1,999 yuan (~ $ 310). The device is available in black and white. There’s no word on wider availability, but this could be a great alternative to the A52 5G if you want similar performance, battery life, and the same refresh rate.
