TL; DR
- Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy F22 in India.
- It has a lot in common with the Galaxy A22 4G, but with a few key differences.
- The phone costs less than $ 200 in the market.
We first saw the Samsung Galaxy F22 in a Bluetooth SIG filing, with Samsung itself revealing the specs last week. Now the company has officially launched the device in India and it looks like a very affordable Galaxy phone.
The Galaxy F22 has some similarities with the previously released Galaxy A22 4G, namely a MediaTek Helio G80 4G processor, a 6.4 inch HD + 90Hz OLED panel and a similar quad rear camera system (48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP). But things start to differ when you look a little closer.
For one, the Galaxy F22 has a larger 6,000 mAh battery compared to the A22’s 5,000 mAh pack. The new phone also outperforms 25W charging (although it includes a 15W charger) as opposed to 15W charging on the A22.

When switching to the camera field, the F22 offers a 13 MP selfie camera, while the A22 comes up with 16 MP. Samsung’s earlier phone also has optical image stabilization on the main camera, but this feature seems to be missing on the new device.
Other notable features include a side fingerprint scanner, Dolby Atmos support, and One UI 3.1 on Android 11.
The Samsung Galaxy F22 will price starting at Rs 12,499 (~ $ 168) for the 4GB / 64GB variant, while the 6GB / 128GB model will be available for Rs 14,499 (~ $ 195). Expect to find the device in Samsung’s Flipkart online store and other participating retail stores starting July 13th at 12:00 PM EST.
That price is pretty cheap compared to the Galaxy A22’s price of Rs 18,499 (~ $ 249). So if you are looking for a cheaper, more durable A22, you should perhaps take a look at the Galaxy F22.
