Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 unboxing video reveals all days ahead of launch 1

TL; DR

  • The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 were unpacked on YouTube before their launch on August 11th.
  • The footage shows a pair of olive green Galaxy Buds 2 and confirms some key features.
  • It also shows the earbuds connected to a Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Wearable app.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is only a few days away and before the mega-start we’re already seeing Galaxy Buds 2 sales units buzzing around everywhere. After live images of the True Wireless Earbuds appeared on Twitter yesterday, a YouTuber published a full-fledged unboxing and first impression video.

The footage includes a pair of olive green Galaxy Buds 2. The box contains a compact, square charging case, the Buds 2, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, spare earplugs and warranty documents.

The back of the box confirms features like Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that the Buds 2 borrow from the Galaxy Buds Pro and Buds Live. The cover also mentions a battery life of up to 20 hours, which is rumored to be expandable to 29 hours with the ANC turned off.

The charging case is white on the outside, but painted green on the inside, just like the buds. This is supposed to be the same color scheme for all other Galaxy Buds 2 color variants as well. There is a USB-C port on the back of the case and the video indicates it supports wireless charging as well.

There is no need to pull the Galaxy Buds 2 out of its case to enter pairing mode.

The buds themselves look tiny and should have a good hold on the ear. They instantly pair with the YouTuber’s Galaxy S21 Ultra when placed next to the phone. Once the headphones are detected, you will see the battery level of the case and the earbuds on your phone.

The video also shows that you don’t have to pull the Galaxy Buds 2 out of its case to enter pairing mode. You can just long squeeze both buds while they rest in the sleeve to turn them on. Once paired, the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone will download 10MB of new software so that you can adjust your hearing settings through the app. The settings available are typical of what we’ve seen on previous Galaxy Buds.

The moderator also briefly discusses the sound and fit of the Buds 2. His first impression is that they sound good and reproduce the bass very well. He also finds that they feel lighter and better than his Jabra Elite 85T ANC headphones.
