TL; DR
- Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 “official” renders have been leaked and show four color variations.
- The lineup includes an attractive new green option.
- The design of the earbuds and their case is slightly different from the Galaxy Buds Pro.
Renderings of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 have appeared in a new leak, courtesy of the folks at over 91 Cell Phones. The pictures show that Samsung’s next true wireless earbuds look very similar to the Galaxy Buds Pro, albeit with a slightly tweaked aesthetic.
The leak suggests that the Galaxy Buds 2 would ditch the matte and glossy dual-tone design of the Buds Pro. Instead, they can be supplied with a completely glossy finish.
The case contains two microphones on the outside for noise reduction. Inside you can see the charging connections and the sensor for detecting wear. 91 Cell Phones indicates that the earbuds may not have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) like their predecessors and could do with active noise cancellation. The tips of the Galaxy Buds 2 are said to be made of rubber for additional noise insulation.
As can be seen in an FCC listing, the case is square with rounded edges. Looks like it has a white exterior and only its interior matches the different colors of the buds.
Speaking of colourways, this time around, there’s a funky new green apple-like shade to the mix. In addition, the Galaxy Buds 2 is expected to come in black, purple, and white. In contrast, the Galaxy Buds Pro were launched in black, purple and silver.
Unfortunately, other specifications and features of the Galaxy Buds 2 are not yet known at this point in time. The only thing that confirmed the FCC list above was that the charging case holds a 500mAh battery, while each bud has 60mAh worth of juice.
