Samsung Galaxy A32 debuts with LG Velvet-like lines for half the price
- Samsung has announced the Galaxy A32.
- The 5G phone has clean rear lines, much like the LG Velvet.
- It will be yours for €279 in Europe.
Our first look at the Samsung Galaxy A32 came in December. These leaked renders suggested that Samsung was pulling a sheet out of LG’s design book. Now the phone has its official debut with a clean design.
The main feature of the Galaxy A32 is its 5G connectivity. It’s now one of the company’s cheapest devices to support the technology.
Other key features include a 6.5-inch display with a V-shaped notch on top. The phone is powered by an unnamed octa-core chipset with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. There is also a microSD card for booting. A 5,000 mAh battery provides power to the package, while 15W charging is supported.
The real eye-catcher, however, is the back plate. Samsung uses four pastel colors, namely Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Violet. These shades highlight the lack of a large rear camera hump. Instead, each of the four lenses stands separately, similar to the LG Velvet. This could be one of Samsung’s most attractive smartphones and it is a stark contrast to the strong profile of the Galaxy S21 series.
As for the sensors behind these lenses, Samsung’s headliner is with a 48MP snapper. An 8MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth camera are also provided. There is a 13-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
The Samsung Galaxy A32 is now available in some European markets €279 (~ $ 338). This makes it the cheapest 5G phone in the company. It also competes against the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, which wins with 2GB of additional RAM, a more impressive display, and a larger main camera sensor on paper. However, if you are looking for an LG Velvet look and don’t want to spend $ 599, the Galaxy A32 might be an option.
