Technology is wild. Seriously, it’s incredible to take a look at gadgets that could come in the future, possibly to change the way we do tasks. Cars and driving are such a technology area, and Samsung has some pretty nifty ones in mind expanded reality Properties.

In one patent Samsung, filed in South Korea, partially describes glasses with AR functions that can offer Turn-by-turn navigation right in front of the driver’s eyes. In essence, it sounds a bit like a head-up display like some cars in the windshield offer, but in this case it is right in front of the driver thanks to the glasses.

The patent description and the picture show that a camera works with the glasses to read the street in front of it. From there, the technician could calculate the navigation and use arrows and other navigation instructions as the driver sees them.

While a head-up display remains fixed while driving, we can see that these AR glasses give drivers the opportunity to look around and still see instructions when looking for an exit or navigating a lane change. It also mentions an in-vehicle camera that may read a driver’s signals and send commands to the system.

It couldn’t end there. For example, the AR glasses could also provide gasoline prices when a driver sees a gas station, and they could surely overlay the real world with all sorts of additional information as the driver looks around. Whether drivers want to overload their view with additional information will of course probably differ from person to person.
