Rimac C_Two electric supercar delayed to 2021
Rimac continues to hum along with work on the C_Two electric super sports cars, but there’s bad news for those waiting in line for the production car.
The Croatian-based startup said on Tuesday that the C_Two would not be in the hands of customers this year. Would you like to guess what caused the delays? If you chose the obvious answer, that is Corona virus Pandemic, you win.
The production version of the C_Two should go into production this year. The first deliveries should follow shortly afterwards. Rimac now believes it will deliver the first cars in 2021. This year, however, not everything is lost when it comes to the electric super sports car. The company added that we will still see the final design of the C_Two and will learn its final name in the coming months.
In the meantime, the Croatian company is still busy with pre-production and prototype cars. Despite the delay, the C_Two now has a new production line in the factory, which means that the assembly time can be halved. To date, the company has built four prototypes, but needs another 13 to meet test and homologation requirements. Then another 10 pre-production cars are required. The new assembly line will speed up the process enormously.

As successor to the Rimac Concept_OneThe C_Two promises a top speed of 258 mph and a time from 0 to 600 mph in just 1.85 seconds. That’s faster than Tesla’s quoted 1.9-second sprint for the upcoming one Roadstermind you. Four electric motors will deliver 1,914 hp, which makes the super sports car really great. Rimac emphasized that it was still confident that the production car would meet all of these numbers.
So we sit back and wait a little longer for Croatia to build its next world’s best super sports car.
