- A new render of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has been leaked.
- The phone is said to have a similar design to the Mi 11 but instead uses a flat screen. ‘
- Xiaomi can also use a fingerprint sensor attached to the side of the device.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite wasn’t launched alongside its premium Mi 11 sibling, but the phone still seems to be on the go. Now we have a better idea of what it might look like if it arrives thanks to a new leak.
Starting from the Digital Chat Station, a new render shows the front and back of the phone. Unsurprisingly, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite looks very similar to its sibling. The render suggests the phone will carry three rear cameras, but the technical specifications of the sensors are currently unknown. From the back it is a difficult task to tell the two devices apart, but there is a big difference in the front.
In contrast to the curved edge of the Mi 11, the Lite model has a flat display. This means the Lite variant might have slightly thicker bezels around the screen, but the phone should be a little easier to hold. There is also a selfie camera cutout in the top left, similar to its sibling.
The render doesn’t provide a full view of the top and bottom edges of the phone. It is therefore unclear whether the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite will keep the headphone jack of the previous model. However, we do expect a USB-C port for charging. The digital chat station also indicates that the phone may have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor – a departure from the Mi 11’s built-in fingerprint sensor, but this is unconfirmed and we wouldn’t rule out the latter if Xiaomi used the rumored AMOLED panel . In the past, Xiaomi has preferred to use LCD panels on its cheaper devices.
In terms of specs, previous leaks suggest a medium-range Snapdragon chipset with Bluetooth 5.2 support. The latter is critically important as it seems to preclude using the Snapdragon 730 series. The Digital Chat Station previously stated that a medium-range Xiaomi phone would use an unannounced Snapdragon chipset.
Xiaomi has not yet set an official launch date for the Mi 11 Lite, so we have to wait for the device details to be confirmed.
