Realme Pad launched in India with massive battery, 4G connectivity

BBK Electronics, the parent company of smartphone brands like OnePlus, Oppo and Realme, finally has a tablet on the market.

Called the Realme Pad, the 10.4-inch aluminum alloy slate has a WUXGA + (2,000 × 1,200) display. It has a massive 7,100 mAh battery that Realme claims can provide 12 hours of video playback and 65 days of standby time. It also supports 18W charging as well as reverse charging to power other devices.

While the Realme Pad’s battery capacity is impressive and its design is similar to that of the iPad Air, you can’t expect it to compete with Apple’s tablets. The Realme Pad is more of an affordable Android tablet with the MediaTek Helio G80 chip. The octa-core CPU also powers some budget smartphones from Vivo, Samsung, and others.

Elsewhere, the Realme Pad has four speakers with Dolby Atmos certification and an 8 MP front camera. There is also a camera on the back, but Realme did not reveal its configuration.

The tablet is available in two variants – one with Wi-Fi and the other with 4G connectivity. The Wi-Fi model offers 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The 4G variant now also offers an option with 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage.

For the software, the tablet uses Realme UI for Pad based on Android 11. It offers some practical functions for readers, including a dedicated reading mode, a dark mode, a night mode to reduce the brightness in low light conditions and a sunlight mode for maximum brightness.

The Realme Pad is available in the color variants Real Gray and Real Gold from 13,999 rupees (approx. The 4/64 GB 4G variant. Nothing is known about the worldwide availability of the tablet, but the tablet will go on sale in India on September 16 come.
