Realme GT arriving in Europe soon, could be flagship killer of note
Affordable flagship phones with the latest and greatest Snapdragon 888 processor aren’t very common, but it looks like Realme will be bringing one such device to Europe later this month.
A trusted company source told the story Android Authority that the Realme GT, which was launched in China in March, will come to Europe in mid-June. In case you missed it, the Realme GT comes with a Snapdragon 888 SoC, 6.43-inch 120 Hz OLED screen, 8GB to 12GB of RAM, and 128GB to 256GB of storage.
A picture we received (see below on the page) also shows 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, a new type of storage that cannot be seen in China. Either way, there will be enough power available if you value the best possible performance.
The affordable range topper from Realme is also equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery, a 65 W wired charger and a headphone jack. The photography is taken over by a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. A 16MP selfie snapper is mounted in a hole cutout.
Realme GT: a new flagship killer?
The source told us that pricing for the new flagship will be very aggressive, adding that it will be “almost the same price as in China”. The Realme GT retailed in China for 2,799 yuan (~ $ 439). Meanwhile, the Iqoo 7 Legend launched in India earlier this year for 39,990 rupees (~ $ 548). If the European price of the Realme GT is even ~ $ 50 to ~ $ 100 above the Chinese price, it’s still cheaper than one of the cheapest Snapdragon 888 phones outside of China.
Realme confirmed last month that the Chinese version of the Realme GT will have access to the Android 12 beta, adding that the global variant will get access if the phone is launched outside of China. Our source reiterated this information, adding that global users can open the box from launch day and download the beta (no login required).
