  • Realme has announced the launch date for its flagship Snapdragon 888.
  • The phone is called Realme GT 5G, as opposed to the previously rumored Realme Race nickname.

Realme was one of the first companies to announce its intention to launch a flagship Snapdragon 888. For the longest time the phone should be called Realme Race. However, the company has now announced that it will launch the device as the Realme GT 5G.

The phone will be launched in China on March 4th and most likely will leave the country soon after. Realme previously confirmed that its flagship will have a large 5,000 mAh battery with 125 W fast charge and a 6.8-inch 160 Hz display. There could also be another variant with a 120 Hz screen.

Other specs leaked include a built-in fingerprint sensor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 on top. For imaging purposes, the phone is expected to have a quad camera configuration with a 64 megapixel main camera.

Realme GT TENAA listing

Images of a Realme phone with the model number RXM2202 were recently posted on the Chinese regulatory website TENAA. The device has a GT logo on the back and a hole in the top left corner of the screen. You can also see a large rectangular camera body, but it’s hard to tell how many sensors are there.

According to tipster’s trusted digital chat station, the phone will be available in leather and glass versions.
