Realme Flash Leaked Render 1

TL; DR

  • The Realme Flash is said to be the first Android phone with magnetic charging.
  • The technology was previously limited to Apple’s iPhone 12 series.
  • Realme officially teased the phone, and its renders as well as specs have also been leaked.

A few days ago, we saw renders of Realme’s so-called MagDart chargers, designed to mimic the functionality of Apple MagSafe by magnetically attaching them to a phone for charging. Now a new leak from people over there GSMArena gives us our first look at the first Android phone that would support magnetic charging.

As confirmed by Realme in a tweet, the Realme Flash will introduce magnetic charging to the Android ecosystem. Leaked renders of the phone show that it will be a flagship powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. An image showing the phone’s “About Phone” page further shows that the Realme Flash is getting 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, possibly on the high end. Android 11 is also on board.

The design includes a curved display at the front with a hole cutout at the corner. There’s a triple camera setup on the back, but unfortunately the leak doesn’t shed any light on the sensor configuration.

As for the MagDart charger, we see a bulky square accessory attached to the back of the phone. GSMArena was able to confirm that charging speeds will exceed 15W and that Realme’s solution will be the fastest magnetic charging technology in the world when it launches. We heard before that it would compete with modern wired fast charging technology.

Realme is also expected to have a less clunky puck-shaped magnetic charger in the works. It’s similar to Apple’s MagSafe, but may not be as fast as its boxy brother.

We expect Realme to announce more details about the Realme Flash in the coming days. We’ll keep you updated when we hear more.
