It wouldn’t be CES without new Razer products, and the company is making its high-end wearable devices the stars for 2021. Razer has unveiled updated Blade 15 (see below) and Blade Pro 17 (above) gaming laptops that are both focus on Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 30 mobile graphics.

Both the Blade 15 and Blade Pro 17 leverage the new laptop GPUs to “dramatically” improve performance and double the energy efficiency, Razer said. They also use Max-Q features like battery saving for Advanced Optimus, dynamic performance enhancements and better noise reduction in quiet rooms. Because they’re based on the same Ampere technology as existing RTX 30 cards, you can expect improved ray tracing and other upgrades on your desktop PC.

The two laptops all offer GPU options. The Razer Blade 15 Base and FHD Blade Pro 17 use the ‘Entry’ RTX 3060 for relatively modest gaming and content creation, while higher spec models can use the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080.

You also have more viewing options. Razer is making 360 Hz displays (at 1080p) available for the Blade 15 and Blade Pro 17 for laptop users who appreciate responsive gaming through pure resolution. There is also more variety for buyers of the Blade 15: In addition to the 360 Hz panel, you can choose between a symmetrical Quad HD 240 Hz display and a 4K 60 Hz OLED screen. In addition to the 1080p display, the Blade Pro 17 has Quad HD OLED options with 165 Hz and 4K 120 Hz.

All portable devices use 10th Generation Intel Core H-Series processors with optional Wi-Fi 6E support. They come with up to 1 TB of SSD storage and 32 GB of RAM. However, you can equip it with more memory via open M.2 slots and upgrade to up to 64 GB of memory. Don’t expect USB 4 or Thunderbolt 4, though – Razer is sticking with USB 3.2 Gen 2 (with USB-A and USB-C ports) and Thunderbolt 3.

Both the Blade 15 and Blade Pro 17 are now available in the Razer online shop. These will be offered by third-party providers on January 26th or in the first quarter of the year. The Blade 15 starts at $ 1,699.99, while opting for the larger counterpart costs at least $ 2,299.99. These are still premium gaming laptops – just because Razer made them a lot easier to justify when graphics performance is critical.
