Range Rover Fifty celebrates the luxury SUV’s golden anniversary

Congratulations on Range Rover. Land Rover produced the first Range Rover model fifty years ago, and since then it has probably become a luxury SUV icon with real off-road chops. This is an SUV that crossed the treacherous Darien Gap and eventually won the Paris-Dakar Rally twice.

Of course Land Rover will celebrate the milestone. The British brand debuted on Tuesday with the Range Rover Fifty to celebrate the SUV’s golden anniversary.

Each of the 1,970 Range Rover Fifty models planned by the brand is called Range Rover autobiography. And for every American buyer, Land Rover said we’d get the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 518 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic works with the engine to transfer power to all four wheels via all-wheel drive, and a limited slip differential at the rear is standard. With all of the standard products that come with the Autobiography model, Land Rover has been able to focus on some really thoughtful details.

Exterior panels are painted with an “Auric Atlas” paint, and each SUV is given a set of two-tone 22-inch wheels. All badges inside and out carry a “fifty” script that Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s chief creative officer, created himself. Buyers will find the script on a memorial plaque inside, on the doorsteps and the headrests, among other things.

Now the best. Land Rover has brought back three historical colors from the past only for the Range Rover Fifty Special Edition. Everyone comes straight from the past of the Range Rover and looks absolutely adorable. They are Tuscan blue, Bahama gold and Davos white. These colors are sold in “extremely limited quantities,” according to the brand, so it’s probably best to express interest sooner rather than later. For those who are not interested in the three Heritage colors (and if not, what is wrong with you?), The colors red, gray and black are also available.

Participation in the Range Rover celebrations requires a high price. Although we don’t know how much the Range Rover Fifty will cost, a similarly equipped model will cost $ 143,800 before all special details.
