- We expect the next Qualcomm flagship to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875.
- Today the company announced a launch event on December 1st that will most likely launch the chipset.
- Usually this annual event takes place in Hawaii, but that won’t happen this year.
With the end of the year, it’s time to look forward to Qualcomm’s next flagship silicon. We’re assuming it’s called Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, and it looks like the company could stick to its usual announcement plan for its next big product.

Qualcomm today sent out invitations to a kick-off event starting December 1, 2020. While there is no explicit mention of the SD875, the company would typically launch such a product. We are very confident that this will happen.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 event
In the email associated with the invitation, Qualcomm mentions the “premium performance for mobile devices”. As I said, it is almost certain that this refers to the SD875, although there is no confirmation that this will be its final name.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 is likely to be the company’s fastest, most powerful, and most energy efficient 5G chipset. It is expected to debut in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S30 series of smartphones, which is set to hit the market in February 2021.

There are rumors that the SD875 will have multiple “Lite” versions to cope with the rising cost of smartphones. Qualcomm could possibly confirm this on this upcoming launch as well.
In the past few years this event occurred in Hawaii. For tech journalists, it’s a year-end celebration in a tropical paradise. Obviously, the event won’t be in person this year, which is why the GIF has a beautiful tropical shore.
