You will soon have one less opportunity to play PUBG. How The edge Krafton has announced that it will be shutting down PUBG Lite on April 29th. The developer has already stopped new downloads for the PC-based Battle Royale title, and the official website is practically closed. Player support ends on May 29th.
The decision to shut down Lite does not affect PUBG Mobile Lite, the phone-centric equivalent – the game stays intact.

Krafton didn’t say why it would shut down PUBG Lite. However, months earlier there were signs of problems. The studio made the game completely free in November 2020 and pulled the L-coin currency of the title in-game. It has only been available since a beta was released in January 2019, and the updates were discontinued in early 2020.
If the demand were to blame, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising. While there aren’t readily available player stats, it’s no secret that it didn’t have a large audience – people asked about a shortage of human gamers in 2019. Lite was built to do that PUBG Experience accessible to people whose humble computers may have regular game issues, but the shutdown suggests that many PC gamers have been content to use the “full” game instead.
