About this Omni 20 Plus test: I tested the 230V model, which includes an EU outlet, but there is also a 120V model with outlets for the US and Canadian markets. Omnicharge delivered the test package Android Authority.
What is the Omni 20 Plus?
Omnicharge’s Omni 20 Plus is designed as a one-size-fits-all portable battery for all of your devices. Omnicharge is equipped with various USB ports, a power outlet, a DC barrel connector and support for wireless charging and offers everything for charging laptops and smartphones to cameras, drones and much more.
Buying Guide: The best wireless chargers
At its core, the Omni 20 Plus is a 20,000 mAh power bank that is supplied with power via one of the 45 W USB-C, DC and wall sockets. Omnicharge states that this is enough capacity for a typical laptop charge cycle, five charges from a DSLR camera, five smartphone charges, and one or two full charges from a drone. Of course, depending on your individual battery capacity. My experience agrees pretty well with these claims.

Unlike most compact power banks, the Omni 20 Plus allows you to charge high voltage and high power on the go. You’d think all of this could make the Omni 20 Plus a bulky product, but at just 611g, it’s not much heavier than other 20,000mAh power banks on the market. It’s definitely portable.
You can buy the Omni 20 Plus on its own for $ 199, or as a $ 249 bundle. The latter includes a 45W USB-C wall charger with a choice of regional power adapters, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and a protective case. The bundle saves money, but is not required for users who already have a high-performance USB charging connector.

Test results
The Omni 20 Plus has an extensive selection of connections that go far beyond your normal power bank. Think of this more as a universal plug / battery hybrid designed to work on a really wide range of products, including plugged ones.
The AC / HVDC socket provides up to 100 W of power with a modified sine wave of 120 V, 60 Hz in the US model or a modified sine wave of 230 V, 50 Hz in the European version. The bidirectional 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC barrel connector can be used to charge the Omni 20 Plus with 45 W or for power up to 100 W for laptops and the like. It supports four modes between 5 and 20 V with up to 5 A output current. 100 W is more than enough to charge everything with an internal battery.
For your smaller devices, the Omni 20 Plus has two 18W Quick Charge 3.0 USB-A ports on the front and a single USB-C port on the back that provides USB power for up to 60 W supports. When it comes to USB devices, charging standards vary widely with no guarantee that you will get fast charging speeds from any particular port. So we tested the USB ports and gadget compatibility more closely to see how good the Omni 20 Plus really is.
The USB-A ports provide fast charging, Apple and Samsung charging support (see table below) and ensure support for a wide variety of devices using different standards. The USB-C port doesn’t support the latest programmable USB power adapter protocol, which can charge phones like the Samsung Galaxy S21 series a bit faster, but it does work with the more general Power Delivery standard. When it comes to the latest smartphones and laptops, get the fastest speeds through the USB-C port. I wish there were two of them. If you have a lot of USB-C devices, the Omni 20c Plus model may be more suitable. However, two fast-charging USB-A ports are great for a wide variety of other devices based on the various other charging standards.

I also tested the 10W wireless charging capabilities. As with most wireless chargers, there is a sweet spot for positioning your device, and the Omni 20+ is quite picky. While our Google Pixel 5 and Apple iPhone 12 were charged with 10 W in the sweet spot, I couldn’t achieve the same speeds in any position with the Samsung Galaxy S21. Another minor complaint is that the surface is very smooth, which can cause glass-backed phones with large camera bodies to slide off the pad and stop charging. A surface with better grip would be better.
Fastest charging cable: Which one is best for you
To round off our tests, I also charged several devices at the same time. Three smartphones (two via USB-A and one wireless charging) and a laptop connected to the USB-C port required a peak power of 107 W, which the Omni 20 Plus was able to provide without any problems. Though this caused the temperatures to climb above 40 ° C and hit a pretty warm peak of 52.6 ° C before I decided to stop charging. Fortunately, you can see how warm the Omni gets on the display. When charging two laptops (one via USB-C and the other via the AC port) or three phones via USB and an AC laptop at the same time, an attempt was made to use 130W and the AC port was automatically turned off.
The Omni 20 Plus goes far beyond your normal power bank.
There are limitations to drawing obscene amounts of power from the battery, but that’s to be expected. The Omni 20 Plus won’t exceed 110W when charging multiple sources, but that’s enough power for the vast majority of use cases. If you need more power it really should be plugged into an electrical outlet.
What I like about the Omni 20 Plus
- The large selection of charging options. With plenty of USB ports, an AC plug and a DC plug, there is no device that the Omni 20 Plus cannot charge.
- The small OLED display. It’s a nice extra touch to monitor charging speed and temperature.
- Wireless charging. Nobody likes tangled up with cables, so the ability to wirelessly charge smaller devices is greatly appreciated.
- The compact design. The Omni 20 Plus looks pretty good for a battery pack, fits neatly in a laptop bag, and is relatively light.
What I do not like
- The battery capacity could be a bit bigger. 20,000 mAh is enough for most people, but only for a single laptop charge. On the other hand, a larger battery would be heavier.
- Fine wireless charging. The smooth plastic surface doesn’t match slippery glass smartphones, causing some of them to slip out of the sweet spot for wireless charging.
Omni 20 Plus Review: The Verdict
Recognition: Robert Triggs / Android Authority
At $ 199, the Omni 20 Plus isn’t targeting the same market as your $ 30 daily battery. If you’re looking for something to charge your phone all day or on a weekend camping trip, this product is almost certainly overdone.
Omni 20 Plus 20000mah Power Bank A power bank to charge them all up.
A 20,000 mAh power hub for charging all of your smart devices, from cameras and drones to laptops and smartphones. Supports USB PD, Quick Charge 3.0, adjustable DC power supply, wireless charging and a wall socket.
Instead, the Omni 20 Plus comes into its own for travelers who need to charge a variety of high-performance devices such as laptops and cameras. Photographers and videographers who want to take pictures continuously for a day or two, long-distance business travelers and journalists who do not want to duel for trade fairs get their money’s worth here.
There is almost no device that the Omni 20 Plus cannot charge.
You can find larger capacity AC and USB-C chargers that don’t cost quite as much, but Omnicharge’s Omni 20 Plus is more compact, lighter, and supports a wider range of outlets and standards than others on the market. It doesn’t look bad either, and its battery capacity, while not the largest, is sufficient for most use cases, but remains slim and portable.

Overall, the Omnicharge Omni 20 Plus is a very robust product for the discerning gadget user. I will certainly take one with me as soon as the world is back on the road.
