Modern smartphones usually have multiple rear cameras to handle different scenarios. Sure, the main shooter often uses the best sensor and more impressive technology, but it can still be missing in certain conditions. For coverage, phone manufacturers are adding ultra-wide and telephoto cameras to the capabilities of their devices.
Ultra-wide shooters are great for capturing landscapes, tight spaces, or additional contexts next to your subject. Telephoto shooters meanwhile bring distant subjects closer together. Of course, they both have their negatives, but together they’re free. But if you only had to choose one, which one would you choose? Would you rather have an ultra-wide camera or a periscope / telephoto snapper on your smartphone?
